Local students attend Mount Mansfield Union High School, Camel's Hump Middle School, and Richmond Elementary School. A few interesting facts about Richmond compared to other Vermont towns include that their median household income is above the state average, their unemployment percentage is below state average, and the percentage of population with a bachelor degree or equivalent, or higher, is above state average.
With ample access to the beautiful outdoors, people in Richmond have a choice when it comes to recreational activities. As you can imagine, snowmobiling is very popular, allowing hardy Vermont folks the opportunity to explore hundreds of miles of trails requiring diverse degrees of expertise, courage, and appropriate clothing. It goes without saying that hunting and fishing are a way of life. Besides the rivers and ponds near Richmond, Lake Champlain is a short drive away, and its vast body of water is a spectacular setting for sports and recreation, year-round.
